Deep Dives: The Rise and Fall of Adriano

I worked with the team at The Gold Studio creating a multi-episode series which consisted of a long form documentary and 4 Youtube shorts based on the documentary. As I was not allowed to use match footage, this presented a challenge and I was supplied with a script which gave me creative license to find a style to tell this story. I used Chat GPT to establish a style that I could use to create a comic style animation, I did also explore Runway to generate some of the videos. Using the sourced imagery, I artworked several comic panels that could be used in animation.

I used lots of stock 2D stock footage, textures and subtle character animation with Adriano’s memorable goals. I used the comic shapes and page turns as transitions to move the story along. When I was happy with the animation, I exported the video and spent time source audio tracks, sound effects and match commentary to enhance the emotion and the highs and lows of Adriano’s colorful career.
